A critical picture of negative social phenomena, created using the method of confronting scenes, shown in an expressively enhanced perspective. Franek — a crafty fellow and crook — makes friends with Rysio, an inspector, who is carrying out an inspection of a meat processing plant. Franek becomes his assistant. Rysio discovers some abuses in the abattoir. Then, he takes Franek for a reunion of his secondary school students... Franek still has no idea what to do with his life. Drunk, he runs into the circus arena and cries out:
– Poles, fellow countrymen, I am unhappy!
