Edukators, The

Die Fetten Jahre Sind Vorbei · dir. Hans Weingartner
Austria, Germany 2004, 127’

The Edukators is a film about rebelled  twenty-something year olds, who dream about youth revolution. Jan and Peter as ‘edukators’ start a peculiar crusade to make the rich realize they have got too much money. They are accompanied by Peter’s girlfriend, Jule. When the owners are out, they break into their mansions, rearrange furniture and leave notes warning: The days of plenty are over. They are pacifists until because of an unlucky coincidence they must kidnap a wealthy businessman. They turn from political activists into criminals. Ironically, their victim turns out to be an ex-hippie of the ’68 generation. The situation complicates even more when Jule and Jan fell in love with each other...
